Ray and his crew are legit. They did a great job, super friendly and professional, and got it done quickly and done right. When I was getting the roof done all my neighbors stopped by to comment how good Ray is and how highly regarded he is in our community. Can’t recommend him enough.

I just want to shout out to Matt Gardner and Asheville Roofing as the best roofing company in the Asheville area. My daughter's roof was damaged from Helene. I had called 5 other roofing companies to which the responses were 3x over budget from what insurance was offering, to no call backs, to one guy who just said, "I concede", and got back in his truck and left. I fought 16 months with the insurance company, haggling, and they had to keep coming out to justify giving us $100 or $200 to come close to what the roof would cost. Matt even spoke with them to tell them about wrong measurements and what materials cost now. He really saw how frustrated I was. Bottom line is Matt stuck with us and put us back together and for that I will be forever grateful..way to go Matt Gardner and Asheville Roofing.

I hired Asheville Roofing to replace our roof, including the fascia and soffit. They also installed new siding, hung new gutters, and painted the exterior of our home. The entire project was completed in approximately three weeks. Each crew arrived on schedule, worked professionally, and completed their portion of the project with great attention to detail. The quality of the workmanship and the overall communication throughout the process exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend Asheville Roofing to anyone looking for quality exterior home improvements. They did an outstanding job from start to finish

Our home was severely damaged by Helene. Our neighbors and we were trapped for days, had multiple trees poking holes in the roof. Rain coming in of course. Asheville Roofing showed up almost immediately and we have always been thrilled with their work. Highly recommend.

Shawn and the Crew with Asheville roofing did a phenomenal job of diagnosing the roof condition of a 60 yr old property. This company is very professional and explains every single aspect of the job, from what is necessary to what you could possibly wait on. I felt like I got an honest but comprehensive estimate for the extensive work that needed to be done to bring my grandparents home back to life. I wouldn't hesitate to call them again should I need any structural repairs or roof shingle replacement. Very pleased with the job they did. One last comment is that I was given frequent updates from start to finish to payment. They're the best.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answer to the most common roofing questions

Most standard residential roof replacements in the Asheville area are completed in one to three days. The exact timeline depends on the size of the home, the pitch of the roof, the materials being installed (such as architectural shingles versus a standing-seam metal system), and whether any underlying plywood decking needs to be replaced due to mountain moisture or rot.

Yes, comprehensive roof inspections and estimates are entirely free. An expert will evaluate your roof’s surface, check for storm or wind damage common to the Blue Ridge region, assess your attic ventilation, and provide a transparent, no-obligation assessment.

We work with a wide range of materials engineered to handle Western North Carolina’s heavy rainfall, high winds, and seasonal temperature swings. This includes high-performance architectural asphalt shingles, durable standing-seam and corrugated metal roofing, as well as specialty materials suited for historic or custom regional properties.

Yes, we assist with the entire insurance claims process from start to finish. We provide detailed, carrier-grade documentation with date-stamped photos and local weather reports, meet your insurance adjuster directly on-site to review the damage, and ensure your claim accounts for all required local building codes and materials.

Yes, emergency services are available for urgent situations like severe storm damage, fallen tree limbs, or sudden major leaks. We provide rapid tarping and temporary dry-in services to secure your home and prevent interior water damage until permanent repairs or replacements can be performed.

A simple repair is usually sufficient if damage is localized to a small area—such as a few missing shingles from a storm, a minor leak around a single pipe boot, or localized flashing failure. However, a full replacement is recommended if your roof is over 20 years old, shows widespread granule loss, has multiple leaking areas, exhibits sagging sections, or has sustained severe, widespread storm damage across multiple slopes.

Yes, all work is performed by fully licensed and insured professionals. Our crews carry active general liability insurance to protect your property and complete workers’ compensation coverage to protect all workers on-site, ensuring full compliance with North Carolina state contracting regulations.

We offer robust warranty protection that covers both workmanship and materials. This includes a comprehensive contractor workmanship warranty on the installation labor, alongside manufacturer product warranties ranging from standard 30-year architectural shingle coverage to limited lifetime warranties on premium asphalt and metal systems.

Yes, flexible financing plans are available to help make major roofing projects manageable. We offer several payment structures, including low monthly payment options and promotional zero-interest financing terms for qualified homeowners, allowing you to secure your home without delaying necessary repairs.

Western North Carolina’s climate brings intense UV exposure at higher elevations, heavy summer downpours, freeze-thaw cycles in the winter, and high winds sweeping through the ridges. To combat this, we install high-grade underlayment, reinforced ice and water shields in vulnerable valleys and eaves, and optimal attic ventilation systems specifically designed to prevent premature material aging and moisture buildup.

Your project manager will brief you before the crew arrives, typically early in the morning. The team will lay down protective tarps around your landscaping, remove the old roofing materials down to the plywood decking, inspect for any hidden rot, install new underlayment and flashing, and lay down your chosen shingle or metal system. A magnetic sweep is conducted around your property at the end of every workday to pick up stray nails and debris.

Yes, property protection is a priority. Crews use heavy-duty tarps, protective plywood boards over fragile garden beds or AC units, and specialized catching equipment to ensure falling debris, old shingles, and nails do not damage your shrubs, flowers, siding, or driveway.

Proper attic ventilation balances intake (via soffit vents) and exhaust (via ridge or box vents) to regulate attic temperatures and moisture levels. In the Blue Ridge climate, inadequate ventilation traps humid summer heat and winter condensation, which can warp decking, cause premature shingle blistering, and create ice dams during freezing weather. We evaluate your current setup during every inspection and ensure proper airflow is built into your new roof.

Yes, crews are equipped and experienced with steep-slope installations, multi-story structures, and historical architectural styles commonly found in regional neighborhoods like Montford. Special safety harnesses, roof jacks, and matching historic-profile materials are utilized to ensure safety and preserve architectural integrity.

Old roofing layers are always completely torn off down to the bare decking. Shingling over old material (tearing off and applying a second layer) hides underlying damage like rotted plywood, traps heat, adds excessive weight to your framing, and generally voids manufacturer warranties. A clean deck ensures a level surface and maximum lifespan.
